About the client

William Purves are an independent Funeral Directors headquartered in Edinburgh with 33 branches from the north of Scotland into the north of England operating under 13 distinct brands. They organise over 3000 funerals annually and employ approximately 100 staff.

We have been working closely with the forward thinking team at William Purves on a web based platform called ‘Andisio’ for approximately 15 years. The system coordinates all aspects of the business, helps to increase the utilisation of their resources and reduces unnecessary costs.

Our solution

Delivery of services provided by Funeral Directors is a complex set of logistics. Accuracy and good communication between team members is key and helps to enhance the reputation of the company. Efficient management of resources, from staff members to vehicles is crucial to minimise costs.

The scope of the system we develop and maintain is across the whole business. It is delivered purely through a web browser so is accessible via any device without any specialist software. The features include:

  • Management of daily operations for removals, funerals, viewings and appointments via a ‘Digital Operations Room’ that includes 9 large TV screens displaying the status of all upcoming events.
  • Efficient allocation staff to perform tasks & management of staff rotas.
  • Integration with public facing websites to manage interaction with clients, an online obituaries system and collection of payments.
  • Automated creation, sending and chasing of invoices based on services provided. Reconciliation of prepaid components.
  • Financial and resource reporting tools
